The Buck Stops With Me Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

The Buck Stops With Me

I'm the one that does it
when your not around
The one that did it
before you came to town

I am the one that decides
who stays and who goes
I am the one that pays
the one that stomps toes

I am the one that throws down
when there is a fight to be fought
I am the one that teaches
when there is a lesson to be taught

I am the one that bandages
your elbows and knees
When you have fallen
and start to bleed

I am the one that worked two jobs
when things got tough
The one that did without
so you had enough

I am the one that mows the grass
the one that cuts the trees
The one that takes out the trash
and does it all for free

I am the one that loves you
no matter what you’ve done
That one that cares for you
like a guardian from above

The first one to stand
and the last one to sit
The one that makes you duck
so you don’t get hit

I am the first one here
the last one to leave
I am the end of the line
The buck stops with me!
