In California, there's a pepper tree,
That grows so thick, that you can't see.
All along the roads it stands,
Not needing much water in those arid lands.
It looks like a Mesquite, without the thorns,
And it turns red with pepper corns.
A more beautiful sight you'll never see,
Than the California Pepper Tree.
