The Cat Will Kill Poem by Francis Duggan

The Cat Will Kill

The cat will kill a bird it is her Nature
And though the bird she kills a rare species why her blame
Since she is only doing what to her is natural
And a rare or common bird to her the same.

The cat will kill a small endangered animal
But she is only behaving in her natural way
From killing the creature she derived much pleasure
Your household pet is born a beast of prey.

Your household pet is a natural born killer
And though you may feed her well and of her take good care
She was born to hunt and kill much smaller creatures
And of any wrongdoing she is not aware.

Human beings are known to kill endangered species
Not for to live but for financial gain
Then why blame your cat she is an innocent killer
And her natural instincts till death with her will remain.
