The Celestial Embrace Poem by Chhavi Anupam

The Celestial Embrace

Never before
have I witnessed,
such a breath-taking
constellation,

than
what by chance
I could,
that placid night,
ruminating
pensively,
floating on a raft
on the Pacific high.

The stars
glittering and
gushing,
were just
irresistibly falling,
eager
to lap me in,
in their
exhilarating embrace.

First is,
that I,
have always
been shy,
to reciprocate
that sweeping passion,
but that moment,
was terrific,
I did
strive
very strongly,
God knows
what would
have happened,
perhaps what
came in between
was the distance
of the light years.

That night,
the stars
and I were
invisibly tied
in such a delight,
ecstatic
we wanted
nothing material,
but just that grace
of an
exhilarating embrace!
