The Cherry Trees Poem by J.B. LeBuert

The Cherry Trees

The Cherry trees are blooming early this year.
Spring arrived yesterday, to bring me great cheer.
The weather has warmed to eighties in the day.
It's much better this year, to work and to play.

Last year at this time there was snow on the ground.
You couldn't see the flowers, none to be found.
It appears right now that the last freeze is done.
At least I hope so, or the work won't be fun.

The largest of the trees is by my bedroom.
It has not yet begun to reach its full bloom.
It's usually the best of the trees to view,
And my favorite to watch the whole day through.

Just as the wild plum trees are starting to fade.
Here come the cherry trees to join the parade.
Just in time to keep the great beauty alive.
Combined with red maples, those also revive.

The white and the pinks of the great cherry trees,
Could even bring a strong man, to his weak knees.
Thank you dear Lord, for the beauty of this Spring.
It's unmatched in my past, and my heart does sing.
