The Church Poem by Ray Hansell

The Church

As I walked into the church
A calmness filled my soul
I felt as if I had just lost
My senses and all control

The church was small and quiet
The candles were all lit
I slowly walked down the isle
I found a place to sit

I come here when I need a place
When I feel all alone
It's safe, warm and comfortable
More cozier than a home

It's here that God and I
Have our one on one
I know that He hears me
Until I'm completely done

Then when I am finished
I always let Him know
That at the same time next week
Once again I'll show

But now it's time for leaving
So I must be on my way
But I will leave here feeling
Thankful for this day
