Standing a midst a forest of stone,
Walking through a sea of bone,
Where once proud legions now decay,
The ultimate sacrifice-forced to pay.
Far away in foreign lands,
Defaced and defiled by enemy hands,
A father fall next to a brother,
A bleeding son cries out for his mother.
On familiar shores, under liberties dome,
Behind oaken desk-safe at home,
Do leaders send our warriors away,
Thousands upon thousands, oh sad day!
The forest so vast, sea so full,
Man's depravity-so cruel, so cruel!
Years flow by, still no end in sight,
We cannot prevail-through men and might.
