The Climb Poem by Hannington Mumo

The Climb

To climb a tree you must begin
At the stem before you reach leaves green,
And this is where I am;
As I lift my little eyes aloft at the branches
I feel down my spine the chills of calm
And some heat my breath catches as I survey
The perilous and slippery way
That my feet must go!
