The Clock Is Ticking Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Clock Is Ticking

Rating: 5.0

Do you remember what it was like
When you were a kid in school?
Seems like a long time ago now
Like a pebble dropped into a pool

The time disappears so fast
It seems like only yesterday
When I was just a little kid
I thought life would stay that way

But here it is way on ahead
Don’t know where time has gone
So many things have happened
But it sure doesn’t seem that long

The clock is ticking one day at a time
And the aging does progress
But the kids are raised, I can rest now
There’s a lot less need for stress

So as I look behind me to the past
At the memories I have in my mind
I smile at my life and feel grateful
Sweet memories I leave behind!
