The Corset Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Corset

Women’s clothing through the ages
Weren’t always so comfortable
At times they needed someone
To help them to tug and to pull

And that was the corset, my friend
I cannot imagine how that would be
It would be painful constantly
As it is worn, it seems like to me

The lovely dresses worn on top
Hid a torturous object, I think
And for what, I would wonder
I’d be pushed right to the brink

I’m just so glad it is over
Oh please, don’t bring them back
Rather than wear a corset
I would rather wear an ugly sack!

Marilyn I don't think that women were corsets anymore. They just starve themselves to fit into that tight little black dress
