The Cold Marbles Of The Graves Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Cold Marbles Of The Graves

the cold marbles of the graves
in my mother's zone began to warm
warm by slow degrees
for Spring was few days grown
just:
and blew the soft wind from
the cusp of the valley cemetery
and the usual idols of last night
stood there
crystal-transparent
crystal-transfixed.
