The Cost Poem by Maddy Jones

The Cost

Rating: 5.0

My heart is too huge
And It hurts inside
The color of rouge,
With sorrow to guide,

Why am I here?
Should I even exist?
Although I hold dear,
Those who will be missed,

Where should I love?
Lost in a game,
My soul from above,
Shall never be tame,

A purposeless course,
Is not one to live,
In constant remorse,
But everything to give,

To merely exist,
And waiting to die,
A painful twist,
And a cause to cry,

Where is my breath?
Im so very lost,
Considering death,
Consider the cost.
