The Cost Of Power Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Cost Of Power

A kingly wish, a grip so tight,
To rule the day and own the night.
To bend each will, to shape each thought,
A lesson hard, too dearly bought.

This hungry need, this urge to steer,
Can fill the heart with doubt and fear.
It pushes friends and loved ones far,
Beneath a cold and distant star.

No laughter rings, no gentle hand,
Just empty space across the land.
The joy we crave, the peace we seek,
Is lost when power starts to speak.

True strength is found in letting go,
In watching love and kindness grow.
To share the path, to lend an ear,
Brings closeness, banishing all fear.
