The Cruise Poem by Denim Kerr

The Cruise

Azure miles surround my view.
Gentle waves lap alongside.
The rise and fall lulls me to sleep,
Such sleep as I have never slept before.

The kind of sleep,
Where your eyes are so heavy.
As heavy as weights,
Weighing a thousand pounds.

The blaring alarm assaults my ears.
I roll to my side,
And stretch out far.
As far as possible to stretch.

I pry my eyes open,
Ready for a new day,
Full of exploration,
And unknown adventures.
