The Cry Of Knowledge Poem by Amogelang Motlhagodi

The Cry Of Knowledge

Rating: 4.8

Hear me call, O men! Hear me call now
Why does everyone frustate me?
Men! Why render me redundant
Why profess me but suppress me?
...QUIET! Don't gather me anymore
From young to age you have concealed me
Brooded over me with the ignorance of your hearts
And your gleeful intents
To do as your brain had it
Air-filled as always he ruined you

Even empty vessels passed me by
Their conceit too large; a shark
None of them asked for a hand
For I would have made a mark
But man has emaciated my pride
Infested my dignity
And paralyzed my ability
Indeed a pearl before a swine I am

Man missed me but aliens seized me
Stretched and tortured my limits
Sliced me to the bit
To the very core of my dexterity
Approved of me and to their perversity I gave in
For man refused me but aliens misused me
Impregnated me with filth
Forth, I brought up terror to all
