The Darkness Poem by Sam Randomson

The Darkness

Rating: 5.0

A single candle burns
to light an empty room
as I lay cold on my bed
I feel locked up inside a tomb

The shadows creep around me
as night begins to fall
although I know I can't be harmed
to them I feel so small

Through courage swims through me
it can't seem to escape
but I'm too afraid to save myself
so I know I've sealed my fate

The candle burns out
and wax drips to the floor
The shadows seem to swallow me
but they're won the battle, not the war
