The Day I Met You. Poem by Jacob Robles

The Day I Met You.

from the first day i met you i knew you were special.

your eyes burning with a passion and zeal for life unmatched by even the brightest flame lighting the darkness that had become my world, oh so long ago.

for molly.

i could see a beautiful creature with much life left to live but wise beyond it's years.

like the ghost of memories that float through my head and fills my bright night with dark thoughts of a long forgotten time when i once felt whole.
yet instead of bringing with it only cold and darkness you brought warmth and light illuminating the things that make me stand out bright like a star against the night sky burning with the strength of all of these lessons learned through scraped knee and broken heart.

your voice was like something only heard in a dream, musical and low as if heard from another room and you just can't tell where it's coming from making you listen harder for it and leaving you wanting more.
enraptured by its lyrics and melodies as it dances across your mind leaving a path of beautiful destruction in its wake.

and your form like that of a perfect marble statue, beautiful lines and edges carved from muscle and sinew.
perfect in every imperfection drawing all of it together into a masterpiece unseen by the light of the Renaissance hidden in time awaiting the right moment to unveil itself to the right person who could truly appreciate it for what it truly was.

perfection at its finest.

when i met you my world lit up as if a new dawn had finally risen upon the world bringing with it new life yet unthought of, never seen before evolving from the possibility of a love so pure that it changes all it touches.
