The Day I Was Married To An Angel Poem by Katherine Cobing

The Day I Was Married To An Angel

I dream not of walking down the aisle
Nor having flowers all around me
My wish is not just to have you for awhile
You will always, always have me

Life is a bunch of mean little jokes
Its funny knowing you love her
Funny knowing I love you
Even God, I think laughs out loud, too

I know I must have truly loved you
Will you love me back in return?
Allow me to stay and never say adieu
Smile for your heart will never again mourn

Give me your one last kiss
Like you are just kissing her
Always with care and bliss
Daring as fire, as soft as fur

Today will never be a mistake
Over the years I'll walk the clouds
My heart hoping for a bright daybreak
Endless love for you nows no bounds

Everyday I'd cherish our moments
Talking 'bout how honestly you love her
You smile and cry of your sentiments
Of her being your only pleasure

She is your awaited heaven and
Heaven for me is you
In times, she'd learn you're God-given
Not just real but an angel thats true

Often I would pretend that I am her
Kept thinkin' to my daughter I would tell
About the day I would always remember
The day I was married to an angel.
