The Day She Married Me. Poem by Dr Dolston L Morian

The Day She Married Me.

Rating: 5.0

She showed up at the church door bright and did it right on time
As she walked the isles the wedding bells began to chime.
Her brilliant white dress with stones of pearl were all in their shine
Her trail a simple beauty to see all decorated with her own hands she designed
Her face was smiling and her body-bounce, t'was something else to see!
I walked to meet her half the way as she stood there in wedding glee
She came to marry me.

I gently took her hand in mine, her face filled with blush and blare
I felt her soothing loving touch and was moved by the beauty of her hair.
With rhythmic steps then on our way, the pastor was waiting there,
To commence the ceremony that would solemnize our hearts.
I looked into her thrilling eyes and there they said it all
She was braced and ready to meet the challenge great or small.
She came to marry me.

Our guest were happily smiling when we did our vows that day,
We signed the books to state with a pen our nuptial covenant of love
And when we exchanged with ring and sweetly kissed before our guest,
They took some time to giggle and to laugh at our funny play.
But little did they really know the power of that loving relay
But my heart was truly blazing to know that she was mine to have and to hold
They came to see her marry me.

In my heart was such ecstatic delight as we left the church to go on our way
To take our first and only journey of being together every day
To love, to live, to laugh, to work, and to face whatever life may bring,
With this charming woman at my side no dread did I come to know.
I still reflect to feel the splendor in that notable and awesome way.
I'm glad so glad for that unforgettable and dazzling December day.
Ruth really did marry me.
