When I close my eyes you are right here
Smiling and laughing for 28 years
I open my eyes and the truth sets in
Not having you with me brings me to tears
If you look into my eyes, you can see my pain
The rain keeps falling and our life is no longer the same
I try to make you Proud of me by not showing pain
I keep moving forward even though my life is insane
I ask God for strength to get through another day
I ask Him why, but He would never ever say
It seems my life is empty since you've gone away
I will hold on to your memories till my final day
