The Deceiving Fish Poem by C.T. Massie

The Deceiving Fish

As he comes up to the lake
a fish leaves bubbles in its wake
he gets excited and throws out his line
but fishing here is illegal! will he get a fine?
bait lands in the water ahead of the fish
what will have have for dinner? will it be on his dish?

he feels a jolt and sets the hook
will he catch dinner, or something else will he cook
he reels reels and reels
all he can think about are the possible meals
he lands the fish, oh wait; it's a gator!
now everyone loves him, you can't be a hater.
