The Demon Named Depression Poem by Kiy Anu

The Demon Named Depression

I am dark as the night
I feed on fear and live for fright
I am the chill that runs down your spine
You can't excape me once your mine
I'll strike when you least expect
And will not leave until I collect
You can not run so please don't try
If you do then you will die
I'll grind you up bit by bit
The rest is to atrocious to admit
No one will help you once you're found
No one can once I come around
I'll torture you at night and day
I'm not picky when I want to play
I'll drive you crazy untill you break
Then slither inside like a snake
And when you think you've had enough
Well thats when things will get real rough
I'll raise your hopes to the sky
And hold them up so so high
And when your heart is filled with joy
I'll shatter it and batter it and leave it destroyed
Then I'll leave you to your pain
With everything lost and nothing to gain
I'll leave you all alone
The only thing left is your own tombstone
And I'll watch from the sidelines
As you fight against your confines
And I'll watch as you fail
To win against such gale
And at last you will fall
Just another name to add on my scrawl

Really a poignant piece of poetry elegantly embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. A work of a sober mind.
