At first I feared them and now
They're my closest companion
They were there when no one else was
They are the voices that were screamed before
I tried shutting them down
But that made then louder
It turned out
All I had to do was give up
At my loneliest they gave me company
Now I believe they are
my closest companion
Here they are
They reside in the letters
In the words
In the sentences
In the stories
In the poems
OnceI called them deep darkthoughts
I ran away from them
Now when all hell breaks loose
They're the ones I turn too
To keep me grounded
