The Demons Dwell In Shadowed Minds Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Demons Dwell In Shadowed Minds

The demons dwell in shadowed minds,
their whispers curling like smoke,
binding thoughts, blinding hearts.
Their cries split the silence—
sharp, wild, corrupting,
leaving the child's innocence defiled.

They wear the masks of beauty,
fragile as fleeting dusk,
illusions cloaking the righteous way.
Yet the divine gaze cuts through the fog,
sees past the kohl-smudged veil of deceit.

Imprisoned souls, bound tight,
clutch the cold iron of despair,
cages of shadow eclipsing the light.
They slumber deep in the demons' tale,
drifting in the web of false prophets,
turning their faces away from truth
for fear it might burn.

Hell's breath fans flames within,
but grace descends,
a quiet ember of love's light,
guiding the lost to holy sight.

In dreamless sleep,
they are born again,
their roots sinking deep into renewal.
The mother sings softly—
a lullaby cradling the wounded,
her voice an echo beneath the moon.

Her kiss revives the parched,
her song melts chains,
its sweetness filling hollow hearts.
For truth beats beneath the surface,
a quiet rhythm yearning for peace.

And so the notes of peace rise,
gentle, unyielding,
lifting weary souls
until they glow.
