The Diary Of A Hypersensitive Drunk

A modern day Romeo and Juliet
make unfulfilled promises with
blunted words. Their arched backs
thrust towards the sky they silently
scream at, cursing the silent gods.

A corner or two away two skin
headed men, agitated and instant,
conceal thier insecurites with hard
glances and fragile frowns-
I see them alone, wrapped in the
comfort of not having to pretend,
They shit and cry like you and I.

Beneath my feet, ten feet down
an old man, smiles a toothless empty
smile, his white legs, lined with blue
rippling rivers- signify the coming of
his end. I am not fooled by his fate
A tatoo, streched by the fall of his skin
warns me of his tainted past.

The streets reveal the crimes of the
drunken, blood runs in between minature
mountains. I saw it in the paper too.
The witnesses, in all their cemented
stability, confess, even dusty windows
are transparent. The walking wounded
plea on sore knees, clasping the pillars,
I see them all, These eyes are as absorbent
as those of a child......
