The Diary Of The Just Discharged Poem by Not Long Left

The Diary Of The Just Discharged

These feet tred heavy under a scornful sky
Shoulders sag, burdened with the weight
of having to reason when not wanting to comply
Oh sweet avenger come now and retaliate.
Smash this goldfish bowl they thrust upon this head,
snap these shackles they bound around my feet.
Bring back my fortunes, place me back in my bed,
flesh to flesh with my love, huddled together in sleep.
Wicked men with words regurgitated from study
whisked me away as I watched the birds strech
their rested wings. quiet i was as they injected me
numbing heart and mind. Left alone to catch
the fading fragments of reality, drifting into dreams
that suspended hope upon sticks in mile long
swamps, before waking to midnight peircing screams.
Many mornings I heard birds singing sad songs,
Never did I see them. Now discharged I wander
souless streets sweeping up the charred remains
of a once cherished life. futureless I often sit and ponder
how these fingers parted and dropped the grains
of control. Feet tred heavy under this scornful sky,
twist the lid, dropp bitter pills and kiss emotion goodbye.
