The Dilemma.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

it is here where
the dilemma lies:
you grow but soon
you will be cut.
there is no space
for your blooming.
you refuse to grow
but they will take
care of you.
you want to die and
here they are
with all their pampering,
lots of food and a nice
house, but you will not
like it.
you leave but you want
to come back because
you do not know how
is it to live alone.
and if you live alone
and learn the happiness
of being left alone,
they would all come
and take you to their
home. They say
you are one of them
but they refuse to
make you love.
Love is prohibited
but they will say
love is everything
that one shall have
to life a full life.
you do not understand
but they say
they know it well.
and when you say
you understood all
these, they will say
you are all wrong.
