The Divided Human Race Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Divided Human Race

Many people think the human race is a solid entity
But the magnitude of the division is appalling
And it is not religion, race or politics that divides us
The culprit is the world economic order
With advancing technology, one part is flying away into space
The rest of humanity are stuck in the fields of survival
Foraging for peanuts and sweltering in the hot weather of today's economic hardships
Like Guinea pigs left behind after a scientific experiment
Climate change and other man-made disasters are increasing exponentially
Leading to more suffering for the masses
While the one percent of the human race is ripping profits from the 'unfortunate' fortune made from these man-made disasters
Humanity is divided at the core
From taste buds to fine tuned motor skills
Some human beings are yet to taste ice cream
While others are fondling the lid of a petri dish
Trying to prepare the next generation taste buds
Artificial intelligence and other so called advances in technology are just benefitting a small percentage of the human population
The rest are stuck in the era of manual and labor intensive ways of making a living
But what is the solution to this expanding human dilemma?
How can we bring humanity together?
Where do we start?
The answer is simple... Consciousness
It is time to switch on the light inside our hearts
And let it spark the power of awareness
It is time to awaken our collective consciousness
And make it the driving force in human development and progress
We cannot afford to be led by greedy, corrupt and sometimes wicked human beings
We need selfless human beings to be in the forefront of human development and progress
Those who will take into consideration our holistic needs as a human race
Those who will put unconditional Love before profits and self-aggrandizement
We need common sense leadership in all areas of human progress
