The Dream Poem by Maria Segura

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

Who are you?
Why can’t I ever see your face?
you saw me sitting on the side of the road,
Why did you decide to help?
Did I really look that bad?

Then you helped me into a car,
And sitted me with so much care,
you asked me if I was hungry,
Did I seem that much in distress?

All I did was try to look up,
A face I could not comprehend,
So I turned my face downward,
I was glad I was there.

I felt this shivering cold,
It made me shake from head to toe,
Later you stopped the car,
you got out and open my door.

I didn’t feel me moving,
Did you carry me? Or did I float?
I sensed something warm on my shoulders
Maybe it was your worn out coat.

I remember this semi-dark room,
And you arms leading me to a bed,
You covered me with an old blanket,
And I remember it felt swell.

You kissed me on my forehead,
I felt sad and started to cry,
“All is going to be fine” you said.
“All is going to be fine” my dear.

I reached …
my hand wanting to hold you,
I wanted to see your face
all I saw… was….
brown sad eyes, they said “I Adore you”
