The Drift Of Things Poem by Harlequin Rose

The Drift Of Things

Rating: 5.0

...but with eternity
comes a formula for disaster
that moment when fate becomes circumstance
and hearts fold and crumple with remorse
like emotional origami.

...and perhaps inevitability has a name
and a place to invisibly linger
between the chambers in your heart
where desire lays in wait
and without question, allows the truth to hurt.

...you are distant and lovely
like an imagined afternoon
but your disappointment has appetite
it has gravity
proof that its everlasting
it takes the shape of the inevitable.

...from where I stand
I hold a story that I will soon regret
we are drowning lovers
with certain thrills still tucked in our limbs
my love, lets not talk
until everything has been said.

'...and hearts fold and crumple with remorse like emotional origami...' I especially love these lines. Very well done and a pleasure to read. Warm regards, CJ Heck
