The Eagle Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Eagle

The Eagle

The Eagle, as always
Took off to the skies
Soared, went high
To where man
Saw a dot.

There, circled
With its wings spread
And spanned, went around.

Steering was with tail.

The eagle had target;
Focused on distance aim
Elegantly observed
With eyesight as laser
Shooting out, straight.

It flew VFR
As pilot to runway
For landing ILS.

Its plan was ambush
Or attacking direct.

Mapped for an alternate
In case of a movement
By crawling prey.

So, circled and circled
Unaware was serpent…

In no time, in claws
Turned and wound
Large snake…

On the D for action
Miracle of the birds
Let hunt go; genius,
It crashed on a rock
And became edible.
