The Edge Of Night Poem by Jake Deeds

The Edge Of Night

I clutched my hand with stellar might
And peeped the crack in sheer delight
To had finally captured the edge of night

A formidable foe in its' own right
Hid in the shadows and fought the fight
To disappear in the daylight, bright

Time passed swiftly and my grasp grew weak
As did my determination to sneak the peak
And sliced my hand on its' mystique

My strength no longer and its' relentless braun
It the king and I the pawn
Released my hand to find it gone <><
