The End Poem by Johnny Monroe

The End

I've been living in the past
for far too long,
been thinking about you,
been singing our songs...

I've been thinking about
the way you made me smile
(so naturally, so honestly happy...)

I've been mourning the death
of who I thought you were,

of who I would've been,

What WE could have been.

But tonight
I'm letting the memories die.
I'm burying our fairytale castle.
I thought,
(no longer think)
I hoped,
(I stopped hoping)
I prayed
(Aphrodite never answered)
for more chapters,
but the story of us reads

THE END.
