The Endless Task Poem by Paul Warren

The Endless Task

Marbled canyons beacon me on
Dragging me down as my energy is gone
My journey has been madeacross the dusty plain
As the sun bakes me and my energy is drained

Each night I rest from from my daily toil
As the next day for me is an endless foil
For the rules were set an age ago
When the path is set in honour you know

My task they had demanded of me
Is always onward forward you see
With no real rest from the endless task
Was it wrong for me to ask.
