The Engagement Ring Poem by Kristy Artmann

The Engagement Ring

Rating: 5.0

A beautiful ring for a beautiful girl,
To him I thought I was lovelier than a black pearl.
It sparkles, it gleams,
He did love me so it now seems or was it just a dream.
It's usually a symbol of love and devotion,
Representation of the heart’s rapture thrown into motion.
Three princess diamonds perched upon circular elements of pure white gold,
A beautiful ring for a beautiful soul is what I was told.
But now it sits in its cushioned box,
Gathering dust, it’s a life of hard knocks.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A very beautiful write, though a bit sad... I wouldn't worry about the ring. Love is the most beautiful engagement ring two people can exchange... Have you seen 'Mission impossible 3'? The way they get married shows very well what getting married is really about. I love this scene... He asks her: ' do you trust me? ' and takes her unexpectedly somewhere quiet and they exchange those plastic engagement rings... This is SO beautiful! Lol!
