The Error Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Error

When inquiring about
The error that saw
His old age pension deposited
In someone else's bank account
The bureauRAT
At the other end
Of the line
Said it was a computer error
Five hundred years ago
It would have been
A faulty quill
And a mere century ago
There would have been
Something wrong with the pen
Any lame excuse will do
For these overpaid laggards
Unaccountable to the public
Who pays their salaries
Who haven't got sufficient virtue
To take responsibility and apologize
For any mistakes, they've made.
