We are told
We must care
And many of us
Genuinely care
But there are others
Who know
It is the oil
That every so-called caregiver
Must apply to the situation
So they sit in classes
To be told
How they can go about
Learning how to care
They are told
Say this - don't say that
This is the pathetic state
In which we find ourselves
Young people compete
In a cut-throat system
To get into the few professions
Where good jobs are available
Then after this
Dog eat dog competition
Their sense of caring for others
Is warped and superseded
By the desire to win
At all costs
They don't really care
They have no real concept
As to how they can care
And every time
They and those instructing them
Who have been through the same mill as them
Talk about caring
It sounds like a caricature
Of genuine caring.
