The Eternal Flame (2010) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

The Eternal Flame (2010)

I took you for granted
and you married me
God Chose us for ech other
And we held back
We fought to defend our love
Gossip took away my smile
We were two united strongly
Driven into each others arms
They complained:
She'll be the death of him

But the day you died,
Was the day I understood
How deeply you loved me
And when God Asked
Where you wanted to be
in the afterlife: Both of us
Or Neither of us!

And I came running back to you
The man I married who
Never gave up on me
Even to his death
An eternal flame
a Mark of Love so clear
That I hesitate to move
to anyone else for love

But my heart knows
I will, because I have
begun to look or rather see
What you saw months ago
But I say I can resist
For Love of you

Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
My eternal one
Timing is up to you
Light of my life and my better half
I would hang on for a lifetime
Because we are Almost Paradise
And God approves.
