The Eye Of Hatred - Poem by Raymichelle Springer

To be a mate you sacrifice
You must be willing and ready to try
To swim against a blistering currant
To push against a howling wind
To ride amoung spies and theives
To set your mind not to leave
The outside world creeps on in
Shadow waves of tortured past
Crashing unto todays' horizon
Building a wall in bad weather
Is neither smart nor dumb
It tests the patience and determination of its' subjects
Yet still building in bad weather will get you nowhere fast
To look into the eyes of your beloved and be unsure
Raises ghosts from beyond the graveyard
That once risen, agonise and afflict such bitter a serving of disdain into ones system
Gradually changng ones appearance, emotion and intentions
The acrid taste of betrayal now in its habitat
Loves' eye now clouded
Clouded from patience, clouded from reason, clouded from forgiveness
What takes over is a power equal in passion and lust
For those who possess it nothing seems as free as seeing through The Eyes Of Hatred! !
