The Face. Poem by Cecilia Parkin

The Face.

As I went along the lonely road
At every bend I sought
The Face - the Face I dearly love
In all that lay before.

I heard His voice at quiet of night
Saying onto me,
'My child, why make your life so hard
Where you are I Will be! '.
