The Fall Poem by Jyotishman Debnath

The Fall

The way I scearm
is the way I live
in between lies the silence
the vagabond dreams
and the unseen shores
uncertainty is the word of the season

thus I live day after day
thus I forget night after night

the tiny little pleasures
with one gulp I fly high
and find the surreal meaning of life
the absurd meaning of life

the lighthouse of distant shore is not visible
the quisling fog covers it up
from this bank to the other
my mind sketches a bridge
yet still I lose in between

Last night you have asked me
'what is your address'?
I replied is there any address
of a river
who has lost it's source?

thus I live day after day
thus I forget night after night

in my eyes the watery manuscript of my past
written with the ink of memories

falling from the grace
curse! just like a bird
flying in the lost horizon
where to go? whom to ask
the address of the beloveds home

violent silence
yet talkative eyes
eyes gazing at the chimney
heart listening to thousand and one night tale

in the known unknown darkness
I drink an earthly desire
in my vein I feel the coldness of the desire
and I flow like a river
to reach nowhere

The more I dissipate myself the more I get peace
thus I live day after day
thus i forget night after night..!
