The Fate Poem by Troy Clark

The Fate

I see now the fate in which
it created
All the while it points an me
and laughs as tears run down
my pale face
And as the shadow
of a dead pine reaches me
I slip into darknes

I wander threw a land of emotions
All taking on a shape that will
best send me further into darkness
I run and soon come to a mockery
of life and can take no more

My legs betray me and I fall
to my knees
Hands to my face to cover the tears
But every tear shed laughs at me
and tells me I’m alone
Alone in a world of false dreams
and lies

“Please”, I scream
“Tell me why this is”
“Explain to me the reason”

Nothing answered my pleads
The only sound heard was the
rasping of my breath and
The ever slowing beats of
my heart
