The God Eater Poem by Troy Clark

The God Eater

Humans, in all their ignorance

released me upon this plane

this existence

It's lonely and cold

so I eat their flesh

to feel warmth

I suck the marrow clean

from their bones

String them up like wind chimes

my play things, my children

Even though they

My creators, my fathers and mothers

again and again

attempt to take my life

I love them still

How else am I to feel alive

but prove to them, again and again

my dominance, my struggle to clean

this place that i call my own

of their stench and disease

I love them

and I hate them

Jealous of society

jealous of their Love

I am the God Eater

Devourer of child and man alike

and you, the Sheep, father and mother

are my prey

Thank you

It's the young, it appears

that never look into the future

and now, the future looks as bright

as the blood they shed

as I tear them into shreds

I am the God Eater

Destroyer

the Legacy yous created

and you shall all feel my wrath
