'Honk Honk Honk' A normal sound to me now.
They fly over head formed in the character after 'U'.
The sight of them is unnerving, sweat drips from my brow.
They determine the path I choose.
How can one live their life in such fear
Nothing in life is fair, this I know
But nearer they come
Nearer they veer.
I try to avoid them at any chance I have
To no avail...
They mock me as I pass, keeping my eyes down
'Honk Honk Honk'
How can one live their life in such fear
Nothing in life is fair, this I know
But nearer they come
Nearer they veer.
Today's the day I take a stand
No more shall I fear my feathery foe,
'Away with you! ' I shout
I stand alone the master of my domain, king of my court, ruler of my life.
How can one live their life in such fear
Nothing in life is fair, this I know
But nearer they come
nearer they veer.
The day is done, the conflict ended
No more shall they determine my path
'Honk Honk Honk' No longer a song of fear
In the new world, only of hope.
How can one live their life in such fear
Nothing in life is fair, this I know
But nearer they come
Nearer they veer.
Such bravery! Thank you for sharing. I feel an instant fraternal bond with you Hector! I was always afraid of gators as a youth in Alabama - nice to hear that other people must face their own 'gators'!

Lovely poem well brought forth from inner recesses of the heart with conviction. Fear is a bunch of sinister shadows - a shadow has no substance, it's usually a magnified reflection of something small, that's why upon facing fear squarely one usually finds it inconsequential. A beautiful piece indeed. Thanks for sharing Hector. Please read my poem THE OBSESSIVE AGONY OF LUST.
