The feelings return and return
Life is merciless that way
I cannot escape who I am
Even when I do not know who that is
Time has done it all all over again
And I am old writing these lines
Remembering how young I was
When I dreamed and dreamed to be
Somewhere far away and high
Far far from where I am not now
Greater than I will ever be.
