The Final Call Poem by Eibhlin Theresa

The Final Call

Rating: 5.0

We would love to keep you forever
But God would not let you stay
Now our hearts are aching
Today and everyday

You slipped away like a thief in the night
You never disturbed us at all
We never thought the day would come
When you would get that final call

Oh! You were such a special mother
Our guiding light through life
We could turn to you at any time
With our troubles and our strife

You loved the music, song and dance
You were always so hale and so hearty
So I think that God was searching around
For someone to sing at his party!

We know you are at peace now
Still watching over us all
Can’t wait to see your smile again
In the stately heavenly hall

If you are lucky to have your mother
Shower her with kindness all the way
Kiss her and hug her and show that you love her
Because alas you don’t know what day!
