The Finger Poem by Randy McClave

The Finger

For her I have used my thumb
To tell her that I'm proud of a job well done,
And whenever that I could
I have used it to tell her, that she did good.

I have pointed my index finger for her too
To show her correctly where to go and what to do,
And whenever she was ever in doubt
I would use this one finger to point it out.

I gave her my ring finger to hold her heart
To show her that my love would never part,
This is the one finger that contains the lover vein
Forever in love with her I promise I will always remain.

My fifth finger is called the pinky
Because, it is tiny and very dinky,
It means small and to contract the eye
Unto her no matter how small, I will not cheat or lie.

Those fingers of mine I presented to her
With love and care I hope she would lovingly concur,
Then upon her hand I presented a ring as a key
She then gave her middle finger unto me.
