The First Date Poem by Colin Coplin

The First Date

Rating: 4.0

Let me take you to the movies
The out for a dinner for two
I want to spend all this evening
All alone with just you

I’ll pick you up at seven
And we’ll be back sometime late
Don’t make plans for tomorrow
We’ll leave that up to fate

And let the morning fill with laughter
With the sunrise on our back
Your smile is everlasting
That keeps me right on track
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

You’re the angel sent to lead me
Back to the promised land
I couldn’t hope for better guidance
Let me hold your loving hand

The stars beam down upon us
The planets are all aligned
The mood is ripe for a magic night
To waste it would be a crime

Let me gaze long at your beauty
Let me taste the pleasures you can bestow
God himself is all in favor
Let me reap all I can sew
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

And let the morning fill with laughter
With the sunrise on our back
Your smile is everlasting
That keeps me right on track
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
