The Fish Poem by Cathy Shao

The Fish

Who begged me to let her out and be free
I later notice
She has only one eye to see
Where did she lose the other one
I’ll never know

I remember she is a pretty one
Now she has only one eye to see
I might have remembered wrong
But
Does it matter?
Does it matter when you are blind
And the memory in someone’s head is wrong?

We all live inside some tank
After all
