The Fishermen Of Peterhead. Poem by Michael Cochrane

The Fishermen Of Peterhead.

Upon the waves of silver grey, where the north sea howls, and sways. The herring men risk life and limb, for to feed scottish mouths. Their boats battered old and worn, steadfast through the storms, they cast nets and dream of home, and toil in the hail and rain. The sea is dark and catches hearts and souls, and takes the best of men. Still on they sail in moonlight nights whispers in the wind with prayers to love ones unsaid never forgotten in memory always remembered.
